Bike Protection offers coverage for bike rentals, against damage or theft.
Bike Protection includes:

Bike Protection Policy
How much does Bike Protection cost?
Bike Protection is automatically applied to every booking in Germany, Austria and the Netherlands, and is based on the value of the rental bike and the duration of the rental. In other words, you will be paying from €0.50 to €5.00 per day for the coverage, which provides the peace of mind for both parties.
What is the maximum Bike Protection coverage for my bike?
Every bike is automatically covered from €500 and can be covered up to a maximum of €5,000. Make sure to specify the current value of your bike when listing it. The payout in case of theft is based on the actual value of the bike, which is determined individually case by case. In case of bike damage, a cost estimate provided by a certified bike shop is necessary.
What do I have to do if it if comes to a damage or theft claim?
Accidents happen, it's part of life. When you observe that something occurred to the bike during the rental, please report the issue through the ListNRide platform. Go to My Bookings, open the booking, and click on "Report a problem." This will inform all parties: the Lister, the Rider, and ListNRide about the problem. Then, you will be asked to fill out a form, where you can submit all details about the issue. By completing the form, we will be able to process the case more quickly. Please be as honest and supportive as you possibly can. In case we need any more information, we will simply contact you.
Is there a deductible to be paid in case of damage?
Yes, there is a small deductible of €200. This deductible is set to ensure that substantial damages are claimed. Small issues like a flat tire shall be directly solved directly with the Rider. We recommend the Lister to ask for a security deposit prior to the rental, in order to offset the cost of small repairs.
When is the bike covered by Bike Protection?
Bike Protection is only valid for the specific booking and so for the time period of the rental. It starts and ends automatically with the rental.
Are there any coverage restrictions?
In some cases of damage the compensation may be reduced. In these cases, the compensation needs to be agreed privately between the Lister and Rider. These are some example of damages that are not covered:
- In case of damage that does not affect the usability of the bike, such as scratches
- Custom built bicycles
- Damages which occurred outside the booked term
- Intentional actions by you
- Damages from occurrences that already existed at the beginning of the coverage period
- Manipulation of the drive system (e.g. tuning)
- Damage due to fire and or explosion
- In case of simple theft, if the bicycle was not secured in an appropriate way
What are my obligations for being covered under Bike Protection?
- Your bike should be listed on the ListNRide with the frame number of the bike.
- You must provide us with complete and truthful information of what happened
- Immediately inform us of any claim you bring forth, documents can be provided afterwards
